Each trainee will be allowed to set up the list of desired prison in an order of priority of all distribution prisons. The distribution can be taken into account social considerations that the individual can document and that the school believes are weighty reasons of distribution.
Social considerations that are emphasized in order of priority are: 1) single with dependents responsibility, 2) registered cohabiting / married / registered partners with shared responsibility provided; 3) registered cohabiting / married / registered partners without children; 4) single. The school may also emphasize other considerations of the distribution.
There is no upper age limit for applying to enter the prison academy. The only age-related requirement is that the applicant has aquired a minimum age of 21 years in the course of the year the application is sent to the school. Experience shows however, that the opportunity to be invited to auditions decreases as the applicants come in 40-years.
The requirement is that the individual has a total of at least one year of full-time work experience. If the applicant has previously had a part-time position that collectively can be documented are as many hours as a one-year full-time work, this can be considered as qualifying for admission.
Military service is considered as work in this context.
If the applicant has general admission, We can make no claim to the work experience the applicant has excess time required for a total of at least one year.
By experience we see that the chance of being called to auditions increases if one has relevant work experience, ie experience of having a direct responsibility for other people (see also under the competence requirements). An example of this is that many of those we call into the recording has already worked as a substitute in one or several prisons, either as summer substitutes or all year. This is also a good opportunity to get an idea of what the job actually involves.
School requirement to be qualified applicant at the prison school is general admission from Norwegian high school.
As a minimum, applicants may still be eligible by satisfying general entrance level in the subjects Norwegian, English and social studies. In addition, applicants without complete curriculum document relevant practice.
Examples of relevant experience can be experience in psychiatry, environmental work, care work, SFO, daycare, educational background, and more. It is therefore a background in human-related professions in which the applicant has been responsible for others who opens a real competence assessment for admission to the prison school.
Rene guard occupations open usually not for real competence assessment with us.
